SanAndreas

I grew up in California. I woke up screaming during the ’94 Northridge quake, and I’ve been kind of blasé about earthquakes ever since. Having lived most of my life in a place where the “big” natural disaster cannot be predicted, only prepared for, you kind of learn not to worry about such things. If you did, you’d be wasting a lot of energy.

The final trailer for “San Andreas” was released earlier today, and in it, they touch on all the things most Californians think about when the ground starts rolling. One, where is my family? Two, where do I take shelter? Three, will the dams hold? Four, will there be a tsunami as result? And five, where is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his helicopter?

Okay, maybe residents of the Golden State don’t look to the sky for “The Rock,” but Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario might. Dwayne Johnson stars as a rescue-chopper pilot, and Gugino as his estranged wife. After a magnitude 9 earthquake hits California, the two travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their daughter (Daddario). Directed by Brad Peyton, “San Andreas” will be in theaters on May 29th.

For those who have never experienced an earthquake, make sure you’re prepared for this trailer.

Major earthquakes are no joke; the people of Nepal recently suffered a magnitude 7.8 earthquake. If you’re able, please consider donating to help the families of this devastated country.
